Here Melissa sings "Faites-lui mes aveux" from Gounod's opera Faust. For those who are new to opera, she is singing what is called a "pants role", or playing a male character, something that is commonly done by mezzo-sopranos.
In this scene she is playing Siebel, a young man who is head over heels for Marguerite. He is picking flowers to bring to her, but as soon as he picks them they wilt. Earlier in the opera, the evil Mephestopheles put a curse on him to make every flower he touched wilt. Siebel then outsmarts him by dipping his hands in holy water, and goes back to picking flowers.
